Good to finally met you Tim

I knew your family in the early '70s and I want you to know they loved you and missed you. I went to the wall today to finally meet you. I knelt in front of panel 39W to brush away a blade of cut grass from your name and it felt as if I reached back through the ages and finally got to shake your hand. It was good to finally meet you. I want you to know that over the last nearly forty years your friends and country have come to recognize the bravery you displayed in going to war and the sacrifice you made for each of us and for your country. Today and every day we honor you, the others listed on the wall, and all the Vietnam veterans as the heroes they really were. May you rest in peace and know that you are remembered.

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die
