Silver Star Medal Award
Lt Chester Garvis Cox was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his conspicuous gallantry in action. He served as an Infantry Unit Command, Airborne Qualified, and was assigned to D Co, 1st Bn, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Div.
