I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN HIM
COL. COUCH WAS MY BATTALION CO IN 1966 IN BAMBERG GERMANY WHEN HE COMMANDED THE 1ST BATTALION, 54TH INFANTRY. HE WAS A GREAT BATTALION COMMANDER. NEVER FORGOT HIS MEN. EVEN TEMPERED, CONSIDERATE, EVEN HANDED. HE WAS RESPECTED BY THE MEN.

Today it has been 54 years. So few of us left who remember you Dad. Glad Mom is with you, always loved.

Memorial Day Weekend 2023
Remembering you and those who didn't make it home from the Vietnam War. This year makes 50 years since America left Vietnam, but the time that you and those we lost have been gone seems so much longer.
With respect, always.

It has been too long
Dad, my sisters and I missed growing up with you. We are grateful that our mom, your friends and family kept your memories alive. Your grandchildren have your love of the outdoors, kindness and compassion, and your love of music and laughing. It has been too long Dad, we love and miss you.
p.s. I like the photo of you outside with your arms crossed, and not those 2 formal pics before you ever met mom - that is how I remember you.

Memorial Day Observance
We can tell Memorial Day is coming with the wreaths that hang on front doors, and the small red, white, and blue American flags that line the grass covered graves of the Veterans’ cemeteries all acrosse America. One of those graves is yours, and we honor your life and your memory on this Memorial day.
May we never forget your example and the true cost of our freedoms. You with those who love you paid that cost, and America will be forever indebted.
With respect, always.
