Rest In Peace Marine
Corporal Anderson was an outstanding mechanic in B Company, 9th Motor Transport Battalion (3rd Marine Division) which was headquartered in the DongHa Combat Base -RVN. I commanded B Company , 9th MT Bn from March 1967 thru April 1968. In December 1967 Corporal Anderson and one of my truck drivers were attached to the 26th Marines in support the KheSanh Combat Base. On February 11, 1968 Corporal Anderson was killed in action by an enemy artillery shell. That day this brave, dedicated Marine died in support of his fellow Marines and will always be remembered by me as one of our Finest.
At the 2006 Dedication of the Museum of the Marine Corps I had a commemorative brick placed in the winding pathway of the Semper Fidelis Memorial Park overlooking the Museum's structure in Memory of " Marlyn R. Anderson ; CPL, USMC 2163115 ; KIA RVN Feb.11, 1968 " I will always remember Marlyn - May he Rest In Peace .

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
