Honor Him

Terry the husband of Darlene Corson of Canaan Maine, the son of Mayron Corson and Violet Corson of Skowhegan Maine enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on July 7 1966 in Waterville ME. He arrived in Vietnam on November 15 1967 where he was assigned for duty with Company D, 9th Engineer Battalion, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

On September 8 the Marines were conducting a road sweep for enemy mines on Highway 1 near the vicinity of Thanh My in the Que Son District of Quang Nam Province and discovered a 20 lb mine. During the removal of the hostile device it exploded causing the death of Sgt Corson.
