Never Forgotten
You were my Lt. Both being from NY, we used to talk about West Point and that your father was also an Army officer (Gen?). You were a good officer and friend. Like a lot of memories of Viet Nam, they never go away, the good ones or the sad ones.

Thankyou and Godbless for your son and his sacrifice
I never knew John T. Corley Jr. I knew his mother she was a history teacher at Spring Valley High School in Columbia South Carolina. I found out about his ultimate sacrifice when I was going through airborne school at Ft. Benning Ga. It was there that I saw a display about his highly decorated father a Brig. General who served in WWII and Korea and through reading about him I found out about his son. Although I was just a student of his Mother's and she never mentioned her husband or son to us, we all knew she was the wife of a general. I would like to say as an American I am proud of the Ultimate Sacrifice her Brave son made. My Father made two tours in Vietnam and he came back safely. I do appreciate what all this brave men did. I wish I could have known John T. Corley Jr. God bless Him.
Sincerely,
Cpt. John Hicks USA
