On June 22, 1965 --- Jade 22 (one of the two B57s on this mission) was lost during a nighttime bombing mission over the North Vietnam-Laos boarder.
Two women instantly became Gold Star wives.
Seven youngsters instantly became Gold Star children.
Majors Lovelace and Cordero instantly became part of American history, are forever remembered on the Wall...and missed bt their families.

If I should die, and leave you hjere awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who jkeep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.
