50 years ago today we lost you.
Joel, we lost you 50 years ago today. I was near the front of the line when we were coming through the outer perimeter wire heading into our base battalion area for Christmas when you were killed. That day will be forever in my mind. Why you were taken from us while the rest of us survived will never be known. I think of you often, especially every Christmas season. You will NEVER be forgotten. Semper Fi. Corporal Stephen James Weidner, 3rd Platoon Guns, Charlie 1/1.
