On this Memorial Day
To the man I never known.See when I was younger your sister and her husband my Unclle Bill took me in at a time when no one wanted me. That's when I first meet you. I asked Aunt Cathy who that was in the picture. She told me your story. I felt something after she told me. Then late at night when everyone was asleep. I would sit on the couch and hold your picture and talk to you. I knew your story. I knew your sacrifice. I really didn't know how you were before, but to me you were what I wanted to be. You have helped me get over some hard times and when I was being a little asshole I could look at your picture and knew I needed to straighten up. You have a amazing family. You would be so proud of them all. I want you to know on This memorial day that you have so many people who love you and honor you, not just for the sacrifice you made, but for than man that you are. Rest easy Marine keep the watch up there, while we keep the watch down here. To me you are the true meaning of Semper Fidelis. Love you Skeeter. SEMPER FI

Today is your birthday
Happy 75th birthday, Curtis! Sorry you had to lose all those years. I was with you when you were killed, we did all we could to save you but the damage was too severe. I hope I have lived a life that lived up to the sacrifice you made. I wish I remembered more than that awful night, it is etched in my memory.
