Dear PFC Richard Contreras,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry. It is 2018, Happy New Year. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Never met you...

Never met you, but I hold your name. Only stories of the wonderful person you were. My sister loved you very much and was devastated by the loss of your life. I Love you, and thank you for your bravery.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Richard Aguirre Contreras, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Pinal County Veteran Memorial Foundation

I am part of the Pinal County Veteran Memorial Foundation. Pinal County has selected Casa Grande, AZ to place a memorial for all fallen soldiers in all wars. We are trying to notify family members to let them know that we are doing this as well as needing their help in making sure we have the correct spelling of names, dates, etc. If you have any photos, stories or Letters that you would like to share we will also be placing a Kiosk near the Memorial. Please notify me at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you for your help. Nancy
