A Canadian Amongst Americans

It was against Canadian law for its citizens, whether living in Canada or abroad, to serve in the US military during the Vietnam War. To serve they often would enlist from US cities or communities using those as their Home of Record. PFC Conner Jr. was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin H Conner, East Saskatoon. Upon the death of his mother, he moved to southern California where years later he would enlist after graduating from high school in Torrance. He is rarely mentioned amongst those Canadians killed in Vietnam.
