Warrant Officer pilot Concannon died a true hero
Warrant Officer Richard Concannon was a true hero who died during a daring rescue attempt of a wounded Ranger in February of 1971. Before that tragedy, he extracted my Ranger team numerous times from the field while we were taking hostile enemy fire and under extremely dangerous circumstances. He was well-respected by all the men of "L" Company Rangers of the 101st Airborne Division. He will never be forgotten.
