Virgil, I went to see you at the funeral home when you retuned to Dewey. I went to Dewey schools with many of your family, but didn't know you - I was four years younger than you. I remember how impressive you looked in your uniform. A few years later, I thought of you in that uniform when I first wore mine. I pray you've been resting in His arms since you first entered Heaven. Dave Hatfield

Dear Sp4 Virgil Combs,
Thank you for your service as an Armor Reconnaissance Specialist. It is 2018, Happy New Year, and it is the 10th Day of Christmas. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I am in awe that someone could be so selfless and so patriotic that they would be willing to fight for their people and their country. Thank you so much for your sacrifice. I wish you could be honored rather than just remembered this Veteran's Day.
