The In Memory program has honored more than 5,000 Vietnam veterans for the sacrifices they made after the war ended, including nearly 400 being honored in October for 2021. We are pleased to provide press releases so you can share the news of your veteran being honored with local media where you live, your VVA chapters, VFW/American Legion posts, or reunion groups.
You can download the release and forward to media or other organizations that may be interested. There are also promotional pictures, including the In Memory plaque, that can be downloaded for your use as well.
When forwarding to media – think local newspaper, television and/or online community news sources. If there is interest in doing a story – they will likely ask for a photo of your honoree – which they can take directly from our website or you can provide. They may ask to interview you for additional information about your honoree. This is a great opportunity to talk about the continuing toll of the Vietnam War on our veterans. If you are not comfortable with providing an interview – that’s ok – just know that you are more likely to get a story written/produced if you provide an interview.
Please provide the contact information listed below to any media that has questions about the In Memory program, the ceremony, or about VVMF. If you provide information on your honoree, we will provide all additional information media may need.
