Biography
Joseph Anthony Gallo, Jr. served with the Army in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. For his extraordinary heroism in battle, Joe was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. It was in this same battle that he received the gun shot wound which rendered him paraplegic. A teacher and family man, Joe dealt with all the ramifications and complications of his injury for 28 years. He lost his life on June 9, 1997.
