Aloha oe, Mike!

Mike was our brother-in-law whom we first met in 1969 just after his return from Viet Nam. Through the years, he was always there to help, fix or advise whenever we needed it. He rocked our sons to sleep, took them fishing, checked our foundation after earthquakes, built solid additions on our home and always had a solution for any problem. He was thoughtful and generous. We'll miss him always.

Mike - with you and Laura throughout the years.

Mike - so kind, sweet, funny and handsome! He would take Laura and I to the most beautiful remote beaches and fish off the shores of the rugged a’a lava. I have fond memories of him playing his Ukulele and singing on his porch and at family gatherings. I miss his smile, funny stories and warm presence. I feel so grateful that I was able to spend some time with him just months before his passing. Mike- thank you for being who you were - and are in spirit. You will always be remembered and loved.

Visiting with Uncle Mike

Mike is the big brother I didn’t have. Cathy and I will miss having coffee with him on his porch viewing Maura Kea, Maura Loa and Hualalai! We always stayed with him and Aunt Laura when visiting the Big Island.

Hospitality, Music, Conversations, Laughter

Our friendship began at running events on Hawaiʻi Island and continued over decades as we enjoyed Laura and Mike's conversations, music, and laughter.
