Gordon C. Lane
Gordie was born on Sept. 13, 1947. He graduated from Henninger High School in 1967. After serving In Vietnam from Feb 68 to June 69 he returned home to Syracuse, NY. He then proudly served 20 years in the Syracuse Police Dept. Upon retirement, he became a full-time advocate for Veterans. He served in many positions He was a founding member that built the KVM Memorial( Korean Vietnam Memorial ) in downtown Syracuse. He was a leader in holding The Watchfire every year on Memorial Day weekend. He was a co-creator of a program to help incarcerated Vets. He served on many boards, locally and Nationally. He was a strong voice and was always trying to help Veterans and their families. He worked tirelessly for Veterans. He is deeply missed.
