Biography

Thomas R. White was a proud member of the United States Army. He served his country in Vietnam during the Vietnam War from May 21st, 1968 to May 17th, 1969. Thomas was born to Roy and Alice White on March 4th, 1948 in New York, NY. He heard the call and enlisted to join the US Army in November 1967. In Vietnam, he served as an Automated Logistics Specialist. Upon completing his tour, he returned to Fort Lee, VA and was Honorably Discharged in November 1970. He passed away from complications of pesticide exposure during his service to our country on March 12th, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Thomas married Judith White in 1973 and remained happily married for 38 years. He is survived by his sons, Jason and Jeremy, and his grandchildren Ryan, Robert, Juliana and Thomas Jason (TJ). Thomas lived in New York, NY and later in Scotch Plains, NJ, Long Pond, PA and Palmyra, VA. Following his service in the Army, Thomas enjoyed a career at AT&T working as a Tax Analyst for over 30 years. He remained very active in his community as a member of VVA New Jersey Chapter 688 and Pennsylvania Chapter 678. Thomas also helped lead Boy Scouts of America Patriot’s Path Council Troop 104 as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Thomas will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and ability to tell engaging stories and hilarious jokes. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and, most of all, spending time with his loved ones.
