Biography
Words seem so small to describe Dar. He was a giant of a man with a heart of gold. Dar was friendly and fun and dark and scary at times. He would give you his last dime or the shirt off of his back. Dar was a skilled welder, a Jack of all trades and an avid hunter. After his return from Vietnam, he married and had two daughters. Dar moved his family all over the country but could never really find home. Finally when he became physically ill, he came home to Lansing to spend his last days with his family and his wife’s family. Dar was born in Lansing Mi and died there 55 years later surrounded by his family. The first line of Darwin’s obituary read “Darwin left Vietnam and went home”. He is missed every single day.
