Biography

JB Meachum walked into the loving presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the evening of Tuesday, April 28, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, after a hard battle with a very aggressive cancer caused by his exposure to Agent Orange during his military service. JB was born July 13, 1950 in Dayton, TX, second child to Lydia and JB Meachum, Sr., growing up in nearby Daisetta, TX. A true patriot at heart with a deep love for his Country, he enlisted in the United States Navy and volunteered to go to Vietnam, proudly serving aboard the USS Mars 1969-1973. In 1974, JB met the love of his life, Kandace. They married shortly thereafter. With the birth of sons, Jason and Chris, their family was complete. The Meachum household was full of love, laughter, DIY projects, family, friends, food and good times. JB was enthusiastically involved in his sons’ lives, church and school activities, helping with projects, taking them fishing and camping, teaching them by example how to grow into good young men. JB had the best sense of humor and loved joking around and making people laugh. After moving to Fort Worth in 2014, he found his forever Church Home, Capstone Church, where he was a very active member. Through Capstone, JB and Kandace realized their dream of traveling to Israel, the Holy Land; to walk where Jesus walked; to be baptized in the Jordan River. JB is survived by Kandace, his soulmate and wife of 45 years; sons Jason Meachum and Chris Meachum and wife Cindy; grandchildren Kallen, Memphis, and Sailor; brother Albert and wife Janet; sisters Ida and husband Larry, and Mary and husband Tim; sister-in-law Jane and husband Frank; brother-in-law Jeff; many loving relatives, close friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
