Biography

David Mendoza was born on March 2, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from High School in 1966. David joined the Army in October of 1969. He was a Staff SSG. He served one year in Vietnam. During the course of his military service he received The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4-Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, 2 Loops, Army Commendation Medal with 1-Oak Leaf Cluster. After an Honorable Discharge in 1975, David worked in sales and had a meaningful relationship with his 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Sadly after finding out the 11th grandchild was to be born he passed away on March 23, 2019. David loved life, he was a happy man. He was incredibly proud of each and every one of his children and grandchildren.

Hello Daddy, If I could say that again the way I would when I walked in the house. To sit with you and chat about our day, laugh, and joke. Oh how I would cherish my days. Dad my heart aches for you day after day it does not get easier to see your empty room. I miss your smile your laugh and you.

When I think back on these times and the dreams we left behind I’ll be glad cause I was blessed to have you in my life. When I look back on these days I’ll look and see your face .
