Barry Shelton
Barry Thomas Shelton
Barry Shelton was born on October 10, 1948 in Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated High School in 1969. Barry joined the Air Force in 1970 and did one tour in Vietnam serving as a Recreation Specialist. Barry had many, many fur-babies throughout his life and they were like his children. After leaving the Air Force, Barry worked as a Carpenter at Union Carbide Corporation for more than 20 years. He was always coming up with something to build or add on to the house. He made wooden toys for nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. He made several cherished woodworking pieces of art for family members. Barry loved traveling to the Outer Banks to kick back and fish. Of course, a trip wasn’t complete without stopping at the Weeping Radish for their craft beer. Barry was a Mountaineer fan and even made a trip to Arizona to watch the Mountaineers in the Fiesta Bowl. Barry passed away on June 18, 2000 due to Pancreatic Cancer caused by exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. Barry lived life to the fullest until the end and has been greatly missed by his friends and family.
