Daniel John Delisle
Daniel Delisle was born on June 14, 1932 in Burlington, Vermont. At the age of 18, he joined the Army were he served, in both the Korean and Vietnam War, as a Combat Medic. After serving in the wars and upon his return from overseas duty he retired with 21 years of military service. He received the bronze star, for actions in Vietnam, and many other awards and decorations, during his service. He met his wife in the military and they were married on February 1, 1958. During the course of his life he received a B.S. degree in Nursing and raised six children in San Antonio Texas. He devoted much of his time to his family taking them camping, boating and on other vacations. As a civilian he worked as a nurse at Audrey Murphy Veteran Hospital until his retirement in 1996. Daniel love to run and was a competitor in many races until his diagnoses. Daniel was diagnosed with multiple myeloma by agent orange exposure in 1998. He fought this cancer for 7 1/2 years with treatment with chemo therapy and stem cell replacement. On March 24, 2006 , Daniel passed away from his cancer and was called home.
