Worked for New York State Department of Transportation for 35 ½ years Served in Vietnam - 1018th Quartermaster Unit, Schenectady - Received the Bronze Star - Honorably Discharged from service after completing six-year active and reserve obligation Member of GAV AC for 10 years - Served as Training and Defensive Driving Instructor Red Cross - Volunteer for many years and Chairman of Disaster Committee, and Served as Chapter Chairman. Instrumental in obtaining the Montgomery County Chapter House for the Red Cross - Chapter House was dedicated to Dave in 1980 by Bishop Howard Hubbard Named WKOL's ''Citizen of the Year'' in 1980 Member of the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department since 1982 - served as Fire Police, Vice President, Chairman of the Long-Term Planning and Fund Raising Committee Director of the NYS Department of Transportation Engineers for 6 years National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Coordinator for NYS Department of Transportation Past Exalted Ruler of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks #101, Amsterdam Served as Chairman for the Board of Appeals for the Town of Amsterdam October 22, 2002-Awarded the New York State Senate Liberty Medal by Senator Hugh Farley for all his community service. Named by Senator Farley as ''Mr. Community Service.'' Also, given a plaque by the National Red Cross for all his dedication and service to the Red Cross over the years.
