Always in my thoughts

Buck and I met in the 2nd grade at Lake Burien Elementary. We became fast friends and hung out almost everyday through elementary, jr. high and high school. Buck was wounded about the same time as he would have graduated high school with me. Buck volunteered for a 2nd tour about the same time as I was on my 1st tour. We came home about the same time in 1972. Over the next 11 years, we saw each other often. I last saw Buck 2 days before he passed. We talked for a few hours and had a beer together and were going to meet the following weekend! He would do anything for a friend and we used to joke that he knew a lot of people but could count his friends on one hand. The same holds true for me even today. I miss you Buck and you are always in my thoughts. Until we meet again!

Respect for my classmate

One of my vivid memories from my senior year was Dennis’ volunteering in the Army when so many were trying to avoid service. I wish I had been able to thank him for his sacrifice. My condolences to his family and loved ones, and many thanks to all veterans.
