Biography
Forrest Daniel Wolfname served with the Army in Vietnam from October 1968 until he was wounded and returned home in January 1969. During this time he was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in action. Forrest suffered both physically and emotionally. Just 2½ years after his tour ended, he lost his life in an accident believed to be connected to his Vietnam-related difficulties.

The St. Labre Indian School responded immediately to a request about SP4 Forrest Daniel Wolfname (1947-71), who graduated from St. Labre in 1966. SP4 Wolfname received a Purple Heart, and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in action. He was a fourth generation descendent of Chief Dull Knife, the Northern Cheyenne Chief.

SP4 Forrest Daniel Wolfname graduated from St. Labre Indian School in 1966. He was a fourth generation descendant of Chief Dull Knife, the Northern Cheyenne Chief. SP4 Wolfname is buried at Custer National Cemetery.
