Biography
Lewis B. Puller, Jr. went to Vietnam as a Marine lieutenant. He was wounded there in 1968 in a land mine explosion. Despite his incredible injuries, Lew returned home to become a successful lawyer and the Pulitzer Prize winning author of the autobiographical, Fortunate Son. On May 11, 1994, Lew took his own life. He had long struggled with PTSD. "To the list of names of victims of the Vietnam War, add the name of Lewis Puller. He suffered terrible wounds that never really healed."
