Sealed, unopened letter dedicated to U.S. Army Private First Class (PFC) Richard Clayton Ewald. The letter envelope bears a handwritten inscription at the obverse surface reading, "Rick Ewald". The artifact was left at The Wall by an anonymous donor between October - November 1987.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

SEALED, UNOPENED LETTER DEDICATED TO U.S. ARMY PRIVATE FIRST CLASS (PFC) RICHARD CLAYTON EWALD. THE OBJECT CONSISTS OF A LETTER HOUSED INSIDE A SEALED, UNOPENED, RECTANGULARLY SHAPED LETTER ENVELOPE COMPRISED OF BRIGHT GREEN PAPER WITH A TRIANGULARLY SHAPED, ADHESIVE CLOSURE FLAP AT THE REVERSE OBJECT SURFACE. AN INSCRIPTION HANDWRITTEN IN BLUE INK AND CURSIVE SCRIPT AT THE CENTER OF THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE OF THE ENVELOPE READS, "RICK EWALD".
