Vietnam Veterans Memorial (VVM) name rubbing for U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal (LCpl) Lowell Ray Lloyd upon a VVM Wall rubbing sheet. A note handwritten upon the obverse surface of the name rubbing reads, "Rest In Peace, Lowell. / -Julie & Hannah Eubank, Fern Foutch's daughter & granddaughter". The artifact was left at The Wall by Julie & Hannah Eubank between September - October 2009.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL (VVM) NAME RUBBING FOR U.S. MARINE CORPS LANCE CORPORAL (LCPL) LOWELL RAY LLOYD. THE OBJECT CONSISTS OF A RUBBED IMPRESSION OF THE VVM WALL HONOREE NAME, "LOWELL R LLOYD" EXECUTED IN GRAPHITE PENCIL AND BLOCK SCRIPT UPON THE CENTER OF THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE OF A VVM WALL RUBBING SHEET. THE WALL RUBBING SHEET CONSISTS OF A RECTANGULARLY SHAPED SHEET OF WHITE, UNLINED PAPER WITH A RECTANGULARLY SHAPED, BLACK PRINTED FIELD ALONG THE UPPER ONE-THIRD (1/3) OF THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE BEARING THE INSCRIPTION, "VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL" PRINTED IN WHITE INK AND BLOCK SCRIPT. AT THE UPPER, PROPER RIGHT-HAND CORNER OF THE REVERSE OBJECT SURFACE, THE VVM WALL RUBBING SHEET BEARS A ONE (1) PARAGRAPH SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR, "LOCATING A NAME" PRINTED IN BLACK INK AND BLOCK SCRIPT, WHILE THE MEMORIAL INFORMATION, "VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL / WASHINGTON, D.C. / NATIONAL PARK SERVICE / U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR" IS PRINTED IN BLACK INK AND BLOCK SCRIPT AT THE LOWER, PROPER RIGHT-HAND CORNER OF THE REVERSE OBJECT SURFACE. AT THE CENTER, PROPER LEFT-HAND EDGE OF THE REVERSE OBJECT SURFACE, TWO (2) FIELDS ARE PRE-PRINTED IN BLACK INK AND BLOCK SCRIPT FOR, "PANEL #______" AND "LINE #______", RESPECTIVELY. AT THE CENTER OF THE REVERSE OBJECT SURFACE, FOUR (4) COLUMNS OF PRINTED WALL LOCATION INFORMATION COMPRISED OF TWO (2) COLUMNS EACH, HEADED, "DATE______PANEL-LINE", AND CORRELATING VVM PANEL & LINE NUMBER TO CASUALTY DATE ARE PRINTED IN BLACK INK AND BLOCK SCRIPT/ARABIC NUMERALS. A NOTE HANDWRITTEN IN GRAPHITE PENCIL AND CURSIVE SCRIPT UPON THE LOWER, PROPER LEFT-HAND CORNER OF THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE (TO THE PROPER LEFT-HAND SIDE OF THE RUBBED VVM NAME IMPRESSION) READS, "REST IN PEACE, LOWELL. / -JULIE & HANNAH EUBANK, FERN FOUTCH'S DAUGHTER & GRANDDAUGHTER".
