Handwritten note dedicated to U.S. Army Specialist 5 (SP5) John Jay Bennett. The note is headed, "SP5 JOJN J. BENNETT / BEACON, NEW YORK", is signed, "Your wife, / Kathy", is dated, "April 6, 1990", and reads, "Dearest John, / Even though it's been 20 years, I still haven't forgotten [...] Love you forever and ever". The artifact was left at The Wall by SP5 Bennett's wife Kathy on April 6, 1990.
HANDWRITTEN NOTE DEDICATED TO U.S. ARMY SPECIALIST 5 (SP5) JOHN JAY BENNETT. THE OBJECT CONSISTS OF A NOTE HANDWRITTEN IN BLACK INK AND CURSIVE/BLOCK SCRIPT & ARABIC NUMERALS UPON A RECTANGULARLY SHAPED SHEET OF WHITE, LINED PAPER. THE NOTE IS HEADED, "SP5 JOHN J. BENNETT / BEACON, NEW YORK", IS SIGNED, "YOUR WIFE, / KATHY", IS DATED, "APRIL 6, 1990", AND READS, "DEAREST JOHN, / EVEN THOUGH IT'S BEEN 20 YEARS, I STILL HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN. / LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER, ----". AT THE CENTER OF THE OBVERSE OBJECT SURFACE OF THE NOTE IS A HAND-DRAWN MONOGRAM CONSISTING OF THE STYLIZED BLOCK LETTERS "S" AND "B" AT THE PROPER RIGHT- AND LEFT-HAND SIDES, RESPECTIVELY, OF A DOUBLE-HEADED, UPWARD POINTING ARROW. POSITIONED AT THE UPPER, CENTER EDGE OF THE MONOGRAM IS THE ARABIC NUMERAL, "12", WHILE THE ENTIRE MONOGRAM IS ITSELF CIRCUMSCRIBED WITHIN A CIRCLE.
Text of the handwritten inscription upon the obverse object surface is transcribed in full, as follows: "SP5 JOJN J.
