Thank You Steven

I can remember Steven growing up in McCloud. Our mothers were the closest of friends from high school. Steven was so loved by his family....I think of Patsy and Susie and..the losses they have experienced... Thank you Steven for the sacrafice you gave... and the honor you left with family and friends in McCloud.

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die

All Souls Day Remembrance

By chance I read about the virtual wall remembrance and remember dear classmate from kindergarten through high school,
Stephen. He seemed such a patient son and wonderful brother. The Colombero family is very small now, but in remembrance of townspeople and those like myself an everyday bigness is
present. We wish you were still with us Steve, but in your absence we'll do right by your selfless gift.

Such a Beautiful Man

Steve - his smile - they always come together when I think of him. I remember riding the chair lift with him on Shasta while we were at C.O.S. We were laughing and he was teasing me about having a crush on someone. It was a crystal clear, bright sunny day and we could see for miles and miles. I'm so glad we couldn't see his future; that a war would take the life of this beautiful young man. I know he's smiling right now - that's just the way he is.
