My father served with you
My dad (Thomas Jack Welter) named his 3rd son after you a year after he returned from Vietnam. He was a corpsman in 3/1, Kilo company. When he wrote of your death, he said in his diary "Jerry Collier is dead. God rest his kind heart and soul. To those who've died, these medals I accept. Your sacrifice was far greater than mine. God bless them all."
