Memorial Day Remembrance

Percy, my old friend, we grew up together on The Point. Ice skating at Brunell’s; riding the Ferris wheel at the county fair; dancing at the Club; going to St. Joe’s for Mass and church school. We were young once. I’ve visited you in St. Joseph’s cemetery since the day you first rested there. Bob & I say “hello” often and think of you. A hero. A young man gone too soon. But a hero forever. May God’s blessings be upon you always.

Remembering a friend.

Percy, you sat right in front of me in homeroom senior year in high school. We had many a good conversation. I remember we were talking about cleaning up in a shower versus a tub one day and you said "never in a tub. Dirt backwash." I thought that was pretty funny. I've never forgotten. Rest in peace, Jim. Thanks for being there for us.

We Will Remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

THANK YOU

Dear PFC James Collier,
Thank you for your service as a Tactical Wire Operations Specialist. 2017 almost gone, and it is the 6th Day of Christmas. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC James William Collier, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
