It's been 35 years ...
and it seems like just last week. We saw some bad
times, but we sure had a lot of good laughs. I still
miss you, Bob. Tell Phil hello for me.

Hard to believe it's been 34 years today . . .
but I know it's true, because I helped write the letter from our Battalion Commander to your family in May, '68. Although that was one of the hardest things I'd ever had to do, I was glad that I could do something to relieve the helpless feeling and the pain. We only knew each other for a short time, but you made a lasting impression. I have a replica of your dogtag on my keychain, so I'm reminded of you every day of my life. I still have a souvenir of the night you and Phil visited in DiAn ... you guys were inseparable then, and it's probably good that you are together now to watch out for each other! I miss you, today and always -- 'til we meet again.
