Remembering a fellow flight school classmate.
We were flight school classmates (WORWAC 69-49) at Fort Wolters, Texas during 1969. You were one of too many flight school classmates that perished in Viet Nam.
Remembering An American Hero
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
You would have smiled if you saw how things turned out
I will always wonder how my life would have been ....had you came back home
57th Assault Helicopter Company
I remember Coffin as a very young man who was in the gun platoon (call sign Cougars). Great guy with a great attitude. I was in one of the lift platoons when he was killed while doing a moring sweep of the local area at Camp Hollaway, Pleiku.
