My Wedding

Wayne, I'm getting married tomorrow. Joe Rivera, also an Irvin grad, is my intended. We both have very fond memories of you and will miss you tomorrow. I know you'll be there in spirit, but I'd give the world to see you just one more time. Rest in peace, my friend. I will never forget you.

Your Mother

Wayne, I guess you already know that your mom is gone. I know you are finally together, she missed you so much! She had diabetes, and had lost one of her legs to it. I'm posting her obituary. We'll miss her.

BERTHA LEE COBLE joined her son Wayne in heaven on Friday, January 10, 2003. Bertha was born in Stonewell, Oklahoma on January 25, 1928. She met the love of her life, Clyde W. Coble in a restaurant in El Reno, OK, and 15 months later on June 3, 1949 they were married. There were married for 53 years and had four children.

She is survived by her loving husband Clyde, and three of their children, Rebecca Davis, Vickey Nichols and Mark Coble (all of El Paso) as well as six grandchildren, Shawn and Anthony Davis, Jennifer Baron, Cody and Michael Nichols, and Cheyenne Coble. In addition she has four great grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Baron and Jared and Devin Davis. Bertha's family was her life. She was an inspiration to those who knew her and an example of what love is. We will always love her and will be together again some day.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast.

A Poem for You

"At last this war is over and I've come home to rest--they nod and say they are proud of me and know I did my best.

They've lowered me beneath the sod, some medals on my chest--at last my war is over and I've come home to rest.

I wanted to be a soldier--like my father was before..."
