Photo and article were taken from the Philadelphia Daily News of October 26, 1987. The special supplement entitled 'SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY,' was published in conjunction with the dedication of the Philadelphia Viet Nam Memorial.
Cobb enlisted in the Army in September 1966, and was anxious to go to Viet Nam. The stock records clerk was assigned to the 238th Maintenance Battalion. The 24-year-old specialist four died on May 8, 1969, when he accidentally fired a rifle he was inspecting. The former Benjamin Franklin High School student was survived by his mother and two brothers.
