Ground Casualty

EN2 Henry V. Closser was an Engineman 2nd Class serving with Detachment Nha Be, Naval Support Activity Saigon, U.S. Naval Forces Republic of Vietnam. On November 20, 1971, Closser’s body was found floating in the water near the river patrol boat piers at the Nha Be Logistics Support Base located 15 kilometers (9.0 miles) southeast of Central Saigon in Gia Dinh Province, RVN. An investigation into his death established the date of his drowning as November 19, 1971. Closser was posthumously promoted to Engineman 1st Class. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
