Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Donald Leo Cline, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Remembrance
My cousin, Don,for bravery and personal sacrifice, was awarded the Silver Star posthumously for action in Vietnam. He was the only son of my Uncle Leo. The saddest day of our lives was at his funeral. My uncle turned to my dad and said you're fortunate to have 3 boys. Don was only 19 when he was killed in action in Vietnam. I came to the wall but couldn't linger long - it's just too sad. He would be 62 years old if he were alive today. One funny thing happened as he wrote letters home. He proposed by mail to several of his pen pals. We did have a laugh about that when 2 fiances attended the memorial service. RIP Donald Leo Cline
