Remembering An American Hero

Dear LTJG Robert Alan Clark, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Fond memories

My husband Hans and I knew Alan and Tonya when he worked at Lockheed before he enlisted. We 4 had a memorable trip to las Vegas to see Elvis in '69. Our son is Michael Alan in remembrance of a good man.

You gave us a gift

You never had the opportunity to hold your son. But you would be proud of the man he has become. He followed in your foot steps and is an F-16 pilot. He became an Air Force Thunder Bird and currently is squadron commander in Afganistan. It is an honor to know him, and through him, you Lt Clark.

We will never forget

On my first trip to The Wall I met you. I picked your bracelet because you flew from the Midway. I did not know you. JPAC found you and Mike and brought you back to rest in Arlington, 31 years to the day after we lost you. I rode in Rolling Thunder XX in your honor. Thank you for your service, and thank you JPAC for bringing them home. We will never forget.
