Honor Sign

The Fallen Wartime Veterans Street Sign Program adopted by the City of Jacksonville Beach in May of 2021 honors their local hometown heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. A street sign in GYSGT. Benjamin Chitko's honor was placed at the corner of Third St and 8th Ave. N. in Jacksonville Beach, FL on the street he lived with his wife and children when he left for Vietnam. The street sign bears his rank, name, U.S. Marine emblem, Purple Heart and Bronze Star in Chitko's honor. GYSGT Ben Chitko will never be forgotten, he is our hero.
