REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR JOHN BERNARD CAUSEY
POSTED ON 5.23.2011

If I should die...remembrances for CAPT. John Bernard CAUSEY, USAF...who made the ultimate sacrifice

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MTY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Mary Frye – 1932

In Your Memory

Hello my name is Drew Bunting and I am this remembrance as part of the Gridley High School Posting Project. I am sure that world would be a better place if this gentlemen would have been able to return home to the ones that loved him and to the ones that he himself must have felt very close to.

Take The Challenge

I am a senior at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois and I recently received the challenge to recognize and remember some of the Vietnam War Veterans. This challenge has been labeled the Gridley High School Posting Project. These men/women who paid the supreme sacrifice will always hold a great significance in my eyes and are extremely appreciated. I feel that this challenge is one that will make an impact to at least one family member, friend or acquaintance. So now, I challenge you, who are reading this to remember these amazing people who fought with immense amounts of bravery and heroism for their country.

Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.

We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:
