I'll never forget the last time we met

Roger and I were close friends during our high school days at Montgomery High in Montgomery, West Virginia. I left for the US Air Force Academy two weeks after we graduated from MHS in 1962. The next time I saw Roger was only a few months before I graduated from the USAFA. He had just returned from Vietnam and somehow ended up in Colorado Springs on his way back home. He told me was leaving the USMC and planned to go back to WV. It was only a few months later that I learned that he had reenlisted in the USMC and asked to go back to Vietnam. He died shortly after he returned.
