Friend and fellow soldier

Chris -
It was 45 years ago today that you died. I was home on leave preparing to follow you by about 6 weeks. About two days from now two friends would wake me from a dead sleep in mid-morning to tell me the terrible truth.
I denied that it happened. I would not believe it was true. To this day I think of your positive attitude and perpetual smile. And I will always remember the time we out foxed the cops and had a great time doing it.
I pray for you and look forward to marching with you again. I live my life thinking about how positive you were and try to keep that spirit in my life.
