My college boyfriend...

He was fun and he was funny. He was shy, reserved and so thoughtful of others. We were together long enough to feel a special love for one another but a career called to me and the service called to him. I have visited his place on The Wall each time I am in the area; through tears, I have done a rubbing of his name and said a silent prayer. He is the biggest of angels in heaven.

Mother's Day 1968

SSgt,,, we served together at the same place for one day,, Never got a chance to meet you, or the Others like Sgt Norris who flew INTO kham Duc as we were trying to get out of that dangerous SF Camp Kham Duc. You came into danger to help get us out, Mother's Day 12 My 1968.. But that is what you did and who you were,

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SSGT Talmadge Horton Alphin Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
