THE WALL OF FACES

Omer was a good friend. He took over my position as team leader of Slashing Talon 52 when I came out of the jungle in late 1970. As head of our three man radio team I made an overflight of the four kilometer grid square with Omer so that we could pick out landing zones for his team. I was listening intently on the radio on that fateful day of December 7 1970. I would like to send free copies of my book to family members but I need an address.

SGT Omer Price Carson is buried in the Carson Cemetery in Hazel Greem KY.

Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

I was with Omer when I first came to H Co from F Co. We engaged a NVA unit that ended up larger than first observed. We ended up calling in “The Blues” to bail us out. That was my 1st mission with H Co. Omer & Tim Harper were two of my buddies & some of the most fearless that I served with! RIP.

I was next to Sgt. Carson at time of casualty. He was a brave soldier with no fear. Deeply respected. Very admired.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 72 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
