Remembering John
I never saw this picture before this - I remember you as the sweet-faced boy I knew in high school with the gentle smile and ready humor. I was so, so sorry when I heard the news that you had died in service in Veitnam. I remember you every year on Veterans' Day.

In addition to the first post something important i forgot to tell about John.
John was the last male member of his family so he didn't have to enter that war. But that wasn't John. Again I think of you often and still rem you like it was yesterday...........Thanks for your service young man. I still wish you would have made it back because i know you would have been a great dad and husband....rest in peace........forever your friend Robert

Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL John Stanley Almoney, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
