THE WALL OF FACES

Lcpl. Russell Almeida is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts, with his parents. This corrects his previous burial and military records and is confirmed with this photo.

I had a paper route in So.Dartmouth and Russ was my helper. Later on I he chose me to be his godfather. Will never forget him.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

This is his boot camp photo from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, Platoon 316. He earned the title “U.S. Marine” on April 24, 1964.
