A Tribute

I served with Mike Company 3/1 in Vietnam from 67 to 68 and have created a tribute motorcycle with all 206 names of our Marines and Corpsmen who made the ultimate sacrifice. To view the pictures of the bike go to www.youtube.com and search "Buds pics of bike" May we never forget.

Thank you PFC Horacio Carranza

I want to thank you Horacio Carranza, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

I wish I could have given you more time.

I was Horacio's squad leader. He came to our unit Mike 3/1 on or about Valentine's Day 1968. He came to my squad with another new marine Arthur Brunt. We were in a very terrible area where we had lost many men for the 2 months preceeding their arrival. On March 1st we were going to assault the village of Mai Xi Thi near the DMZ on the banks of the Cua Viet river. We had lost many men assaulting it earlier in January. I did not have the time to help Horacio learn as much as I would have liked to. We assaulted the village and they both were killed even though I had them under my protective wings. They both died,a day apart. I have given myself the final okay after many years to forgive myself. I know you have already. God bless you both.

A Texan

Horacio, another Texas boy taken after being in-country less than one month. The news of your passing must have been horrible beyond belief to those who love you. If your family was anything like those of the guys from El Paso, they said rosaries and prayers for you everyday and thought of you all the time. I never knew you, but I saw your name today, the anniversary of your death. This El Pasoan and Texan wanted to let those who love you know that the sacrifice you and they made is not unnoticed. Dios te tenga en paz, Horacio, y le pido que descansas en paz. May perpetual, healing, and peaceful light shine on you.
