My Fathers Reply to you dated January '71
Jan '71. Dear Bob, I have only just had the courage to reread your letters. As you probably know, I not only cared for you as a close friend but also with that special love that I feel for my own son. In this letter you ask if there is anything you can do for me. To have known you as you grew from a small boy to a fine young man is ample payment for me. You are surely one of the brightest spots in my life. I am unable to accept the fact that I won't see you again. On the archery course the memories of you come flooding back and I have to leave. My heart is broken. Has God turned his face from us? I shall never forget you Bobbie. Love Joseph S. Swansey
